Training and Development Specialist

 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Training & Development Specialist to design, deliver, and manage comprehensive training programs across all departments of our organization. Job Summary:

The Training and Development Specialist will coordinate, develop, implement, and/or conduct training and development programs for employees.  The Training & Development Specialist will also oversee training documentation and reporting to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Onboarding and New Hire Training:

·       Develop and deliver engaging onboarding programs for new employees to ensure smooth integration into the company.

·       Tailor training programs to address the specific needs of each department.

Ongoing Training and Development:

·       Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers and employees.

·       Create and deliver training programs to address knowledge gaps, improve skills, and enhance performance.

·       Identify and collaborate with third party providers to deliver role specific training.

·       Create and/or acquire training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.

·       Present training and development programs using various forms and formats including in-person and virtual delivery.

·       Provide administrative support to training programs as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:

·       Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all training materials and programs.

·       Track and report training completion rates, employee performance metrics, and the effectiveness of training programs.

·       Utilize learning management systems (LMS) or other tools to record and analyze training data.

Collaboration Across Departments:

·       Partner with departmental leaders to align training initiatives with business goals.

·       Create and manage the training calendar to reflect all training opportunities.

Continuous Improvement:

·       Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

·       Maintain knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.

·       Perform other related duties as required.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·       Strong knowledge of adult learning principles.

·       Excellent presentation/facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

·       Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.

·       Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.

·       Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods, including LMS platforms.

·       Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.

·       Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field required.

·       At least two years of training experience preferred.

·       SHRM-CP or APTD certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

·       Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

·       This is a non-exempt, hourly position. The employee must be available to work from 8 am to 5 pm and is expected to work 40 hours each week. This is not a remote or work from home position.

·       Travel may be local during the business day for set-up at remote locations secured for training.  Some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.

Salary Range: $26-$34 per hour
